Saskatchewan is once again leading the nation in inflation, posting a 1.4 per cent year-over-year increase in the consumer price index (CPI) in September, the highest among the provinces, according to Statistics Canada. “Consumer prices rose in eight provinces in the 12 months to September. Saskatchewan posted the largest increase, followed by Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia,” the federal agency said Friday. “The CPI in Saskatchewan was up 1.4 per cent in the 12 months to September, after increasing 1.9 per cent in August.”
